How To Add Charm To Your Home
Houses become homes when we add those personal touches that make them feel unique and special to us. Here are some ideas on how to add charm to your home:
- Plants – Houseplants are an excellent way to bring life into your home. Houseplants bring pops of green, the feeling of nature, and can even improve your interior air quality. They’ll also help combat the dry air in Winter and Summer from the heating and air conditioning.
- Textures – Rugs, throw pills, blankets – there are countless ways to add texture into space. If you’re a fan of neutral colors, textures can break up the room and add interest while keeping to your aesthetic. A bonus for blankets and pillows – they’re cozy and inviting.
- Fragrance – Have you ever walked into someone’s home and immediately noticed it has a unique smell? All houses do! Make sure your home’s signature scent is one you and your guests will love. Fresh flowers, candles, diffusers, and room sprays are all options you can consider.
- Paint – All colors evoke a feeling. If cozy is your vibe, check out these 18 color suggestions from Martha Stewart.
- Lighting – Last but certainly not least is lighting. Lighting can truly make or break a space. Warm, soft lighting tends to be more inviting. You’ll also want to avoid overhead placement for a less harsh feel. Lamps and sconces are great way to achieve this look and feel.

Project Spotlight
Updated Exterior Paint in Main Line, PA
This month’s Project Spotlight features a loyal client from a decade back. We painted the exterior of this home 10 years ago, and the homeowners decided it was time for a refresh in their curb appeal. They decided the existing colors were perfect, so we had California Paints match the colors to what they already had. For the stucco we used Jewett White and the trim features Brookside. These clients were also the lucky winners of a French dinner out in Ardmore as part of a promotional contest we hosted. We are very appreciative of their loyalty to our brand and hope to connect for more home update projects in the future.
“For those out their who are looking for a terrific house painter I can honestly say you will be very pleased with Mike Jasinski Painting, Inc.
We just had the final review for the exterior with Mike and his crew for the 2nd time in 10 years. Yes 10 years. That's when we first had Mike come and paint the exterior of our home in Ardmore, PA. 2014. He did just as impressive a job this time as he did last time, though I have to tell you he's greatly expanded his crew and services, very impressive indeed. They did an exceptional job, the hose hasn't looked so good in quite a while. The attention to detail and the care and skill for doing such an expert job is greatly appreciated. We had the 2 Juans working our house this time, both extremely careful and so pleasant to work with, I have to say Mike you did another fantastic job and we are so very grateful for your fabulous work and dedication to making the project as successful as possible.”
